Poems to Nurture
Our Nature
SEEDS
OF
SENTIENCE
_JPG.jpg)
I started writing poetry at the age of 15. For a long time I was silent or used a pseudonym, which only other friends who wrote poetry knew.
Even in our world today it is not easy for people to open up towards arts or to express through their means.

We are part of nature!
After watching the documentary "A Life on Our Planet" by David Attenborough, who has dedicated his lifetime to exploring and understanding nature, I felt compelled to put my writings to use for this purpose as well. I began writing poetry in 1995 at the age of 15, inspired by a famous poem by Goethe that I read in our school book. Since then, poetry has gone through various phases in my life. My first volume is a "coming out" and an attempt to believe in myself. My second, which is in Portuguese, delves into self-discovery, while my third volume explores a new beginning and an unfulfilled yet fulfilled love. Since then, I have been writing constantly but have not found the time to organize all the poems. Yet, after watching the documentary, I realized I could do more. I want to write poems for environmental awareness. A few years ago, I also started a project with "positive poetry" to help people on their journey toward a healthy and sustainable form of self-love. These works will also be part of this new project. What should it be called? Maybe simply "Seeds of Sentience: Poems to Nurture Our Nature".

A first flower of the day
In its own little universe
Motivates its environment
To smile and breathe with it
My first hope for today
Is that there's some hearing
Some listening
To the love, nature has opened up for us.

PROJECTS I LOVE
THE SHANENAWA TRIBE
For their traditions and environmental engagement. Their traditions remind me of my own ancestral past, the one we mostly lost over the centuries. In the picture, you can see the Shetehu from the Shanenawa tribe in Feijó, Brazil.
PLUM VILLAGE
And the Order of Interbeing for their healing. They are welcoming people from all over the world and give them their good energies and teachings.
The order was founded by Thich Nhat Hanh whose teachings you can also find on YouTube.
SURVIVAL MACHINES
Anke Schiemann explores dystopic realities in her immersive art installation "SurvivalMachines". She wants us to become more aware of our usage of fresh water. What if ...
